I created the retail areas of the original Emerson Spa from custom designed wood and bamboo architecture, cabinetry, and unique accents. Here, guests enjoy an immersive experience in the historic Japanese bathhouse tradition, featuring spa and beauty products.
When I was Director of Concept Architecture at Sony Development, we asked the question; how do we transform boring boxes of Microsoft software into an exciting retail experience for shoppers? I developed six thematic areas of lifestyle in the “Ideas” collections: Create, Explore, Play, Work, Live and Progress, and designed an underutilized circulation space at Sony Metreon in San Francisco, into a zone where live demonstrations would occur for guests to experience the software right “out of the box.”
As Senior Show Set Designer at Disney Imagineering, I was a design team member for the Disney Gallery at Ceasar’s Palace. I drew and detailed the oversized set pieces and all the casework as well as the plexiglass lighted ceiling detail in the retail gallery. During construction, as onsite set producer, I orchestrated the trades including set pieces, lighting, interior details, painting, finishes and special effects in the final installation.
